How to customise a Galaxy smartwatch

With Galaxy smart watches you can customise your watch to make sure it suits your personalised look and style. Whether you want to customise your watch face or update your strap the decision is yours.

Both the Galaxy Watch and the Galaxy Watch Active are available in a variety of different colours and feature a range of interchangeable straps to fit all lifestyles and occasions. In addition, the watches have customisable watch faces to make every watch unique and personal. Read on to find out how to download and customise your watch face and its strap.

Changing watch straps

Please note: the band’s appearance may vary depending on your model

1 Detach the band from the watch by sliding the band’s spring bar inwards

2 Pull the band away from the watch’s body

3 To attach the new strap, insert one end of the spring bar into the watch’s lug

4 Slide the spring bar inwards and connect the band

Changing the watch face

Please note: If you own a Galaxy Watch, use either the bezel or touch screen option described in each step. If you own a Galaxy Watch active, use the touch screen option described in each step

1 Tap and hold the watch screen

2 Rotate the bezel or swipe the screen to move across faces

3 Either tap the watch face you have chosen to establish it or tap Customise to edit it

Please note: every watch face will have different editing options such as colour, dial, background or hands

4 If you have tapped Customise, edit the watch face by rotating the bezel or swiping upwards to change a certain aspect, e.g. Colour

5 Then swipe left to edit another aspect of the face (e.g. Dial) by rotating the bezel or swiping upwards again

6 Once you have personalised the watch face, tap OK

Setting an image as watch faces

You can also use a photo as your watch face after importing it from your mobile device.

1 Tap and hold the watch face

2 Rotate the bezel or scroll left through the watch faces

3 Tap Customise on the My photo+ watch face

4 Tap the screen to change the background image

5 Tap Add photo and select a photo from your gallery

6 Tap OK to select image and OK again to set the image as screen face

Please note: tap the minus icon to delete the image and select a new one

7 Edit the watch face by swiping left to modify the different aspects. Tap OK when it is ready

To add extra photos, rotate the bezel clockwise, or swipe the screen to the left and select Add photo. Up to twenty photos can be added as the watch face. The photos you add will rotate in a row.

Downloading watch faces

You can also download new faces from the Galaxy Store to set as a watch face.

1 Tap and hold the watch face

2 Rotate the bezel or scroll left through the watch faces until the last face, Galaxy Store

3 Tap the face and select either Top watch faces or Watch faces

4 Rotate the bezel or swipe the screen to scroll through the available faces and tap the one you want

5 Select Install and then tap the tick to confirm
