How to download & install WhatsApp to Galaxy phone or tablet

WhatsApp is a free app that provides fast, simple and secure messaging and calling using an internet connection. WhatsApp features end-to-end encryption so that only you and the person that you're speaking to can see your messages. 

Please note: if you have trouble with an app we recommend contacting that app's developer. Third-party applications are not supported by Samsung. Visit the WhatsApp website for a list of their FAQs.

1 Swipe up on the home screen, to access your apps

2 Tap Play Store
Select Play store app
3 Tap the search bar
Tap the <b>search bar</b> at the top of the screen
4 Enter WhatsApp, then tap the search icon

5 Tap Install

Please note: you will need to have enough spare memory on your device. You can clear space on your device by deleting apps you don't use or by moving some data to an SD card

Tap Install
6 Once WhatsApp has been installed, tap Open to begin setting up your WhatsApp account

WhatsApp is supported on devices that meet the following requirements:
 


Additionally, you will need a mobile data plan in order to recieve and send messages when outside of a Wi-Fi network.


WhatsApp only provides limited support for tablet devices and does not currently support any Wi-Fi only devices.


Please note: 
devices running Android 2.3.7 or older will no longer be supported as of February 1st 2020. For these devices you will no longer be able to create a new account or reverify an existing account.
