Setup was extremely simple — truly plug-and-play. I paired the speakers with the Samsung HW-Q700C soundbar and they work perfectly together. This soundbar model doesn’t include an automatic sound calibration option, so I had to fine-tune the channel settings to achieve the perfect surround sound balance in the room. Using either the soundbar remote or the SmartThings app makes adjusting these settings very straightforward. Once everything is set up, pop some popcorn, pour a pint of cola, and sit back to enjoy your movies with a true cinema-style sound experience at home. P.S. Dolby Atmos sounds amazing since adding the SWA-9500 surround speakers.

I was told by samsung support tream that this will be compatible with the Q900T. Really dissapointed that it isn't. The Q900T is essentially the same hardware with a few additional speaker drivers. I'm really dissapointed that this product is firmware locked to Q900A after being told otherwise. Now I have a soundbar that can't utilise rear speakers due to Samsung selectively picking which products they prefer to have them compatible.

Samsung don't think about the products they release sometimes. The Q900T does not have any surround speakers that provide upfiring Dolby Atmos. The SWA9000s/9100s are average. Samsung, listen to your customers!!!, update the firmware to allow the 9500s to be used.

Great sound, Dolby Atmos has made movie watching experience absolutely stunning. I have Q700B and I bought 9500s. Only tricky bit was to up the volume of rear front and rear top channels but once it was done the sound has been great. Even TV documentary sounds great. Samsung please allow us to control rear speaker via smart things app

It's Dec 2021, and the SWA-9500S is still not compatible with the Q900T (2020) model soundbar. Like so many people on this thread, I'm not going to rush out to buy the Q900A (2021) soundbar model just so I can use the SWA-9500S. The Q900T & Q900A are essentially the SAME things. Seems like many customers WANT to buy the SWA-9500S because it's less CLUNKLY than previous rear speaker kits. Please make it work!

I purchased these speakers after reading on Reddit that they are compatible with my S801b soundbar. My setup is as follows: Samsung freestyle 2 S801b Atmos slim soundbar These 9500 speakers. The freestyle and soundbar aren't wired and connect via WIFI which to me was quite a shock because I have a separate setup in my other room with Yamaha amp, 5 speakers and a sub. To find that the freestyle and soundbar didn't even need a cable and delivered Atmos over WiFi was quite frankly, incredible. The subwoofer is especially great. I then decided I needed rear speakers and I looked at various options, there were a couple of models and one even had a separate box that the speakers wired into; I wasn't a fan of those. After reading a few Reddits I thought I would take a gamble and even though the soundbar isn't listed as compatible, I went for it. After unboxing the speakers I connected them to the mains then switched on the soundbar and pressed up to sync. The soundbar found the speakers straight away and hey presto it all worked! The sounds is brilliant and totally understand sync with no dropouts. I would recommend connecting these devices to your 5ghz WiFi network and connecting all your other stuff to 2.4 to prevent any interference just to be certain. To be clear these speakers need a mains socket each but otherwise they are wireless with no extra connection box. The rears also include Atmos height speakers so there are 4 rears in total. They aren't just a normal pair so well worth the cost. Samsung you need to update your compatibility charts to include the 800 and 801b. I can't fault these at all, the Atmos bubble everything creates is perfect and better than a thousand pounds worth of separates with not a speaker cable in site.

Hi, i really like the idea of upgrading the q900t with an 2.0.2 System, but at this moment it's not compatible at all.. I don't know the exact hardware structure built in to the soundbar but i do not think that it is that hard to make it possible with an firmware update.. Of course Samsung is an Tech Company an they rely on sells, but since the 2020 models aren't that old yet - I mean 1 year isn't that much even though Tech is an pretty fast developing branch - I can't understand why the 2020 models won't support those rear atmos speakers and only the 2021 will. Since there is no support yet for the "older" 2020 models i will give them just one star. Happy to hear some updates if there will be any or even if the 2020 models will be support them in future.

As a business man I knew what you are doing. However as a fan of Samsung, I think you treat us as shxt. Old customer pay for upgrade, why not? Please consider it, as I think almost 66% in the Asia market user of 900T would like to upgrade their rear speaker. You may increase rev and also keep your support. I was excited when I saw these speakers were coming out. I made the decision last year to get the Q900T and not the 950, thinking that I was buying a new Samsung TV and couldn't quite stretch to include the cost of the 950T soundbar. I assumed as the only difference was the rear upfiring speakers that Samsung must sell them so I would get them at a later date. I found that Samsung don't sell them but they were bringing it these rear speakers which essentially seemed like the 950T rear speakers, so I enquired and was told they would be compatible and purchased them once they were available. I spent a while day trying to get them to pair with my soundbar, thinking it was a passion they weren't pairing easily but also assuming once they did pair it would be fine. After most if the day trying this I contacted support. I spent hours in support chat being passed from person to person to try to resolve my issue only to eventually be passed to someone who just said the speakers aren't compatible and never will be. So I returned the speakers and now wish last year I had paid the extra £300 or so on the 950T soundbar with rear speakers. I keep checking every couple of months to see if there is a 900T firmware update making them compatible, going that Samsung does this and I will then re-buy the speakers and hopefully they will work. I really want a pair of upfiring compatible rear speakers for 3d audio and feel this must be easy for Samsung to do, to either do a firmware update on these speakers or release the 950T rear speakers as a separate product for 900T customers to purchase. From looking at reviews on different sites it seems most people were like me, they wanted them for their 2020 900T soundbar to upgrade it to be like the 2020 950T soundbar. I hope Samsung reads these reviews and sorts this out.

Money grabbing decision to only allow compatibility with the 2021 q900a and q950t sound bar. My 2020 q900t is the same hardware as the q950t - apart from these rears. So it's been an active choice to disable the functionality. Poor form Samsung.

Excellent rear speakers. Paired with s800b soundbar. Just make sure that 'voice enhancement', in advanced sound setting, is off. With 'voice enhancement' on, the rear speakers volume drops and the surround sound is greatly reduced. Activate 'space fit' feature and this will learn and adjust to your room. 'Space fit' really does work and seems to improve overall surround sound the more the speaker system is used. The SmartThings app is great for adjusting the sound setting, like increasing volume of the rear speakers.

The Samsung HW-Q800B is good so i added the swa 9500 rears i have the volume turned right up on rears +6 you can hardly hear them even if i sit 2 feet away complet waste of money i have reset everything time again lost count

Samsung should understand that these soundbars leave no scope for user expansion unless THEY support it with products such as SWA-9500S. This is so unlike conventional audio systems. Please add support for Q900T.

I've spent quite a few hrs over 2 days trying to link these speakers to the soundbar. One speaker is always blinking and the other always in permanent blue (although no sound has ever been produced). I'll be returning this tomorrow and thinking to buy a wired system that doesn't waste my time. Futhermore, if you ever disconnet this, you have to link them again. It should take a few seconds but after hrs I've realised that surely this is not compatible.
