How to use DLNA technologies
Overview
DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is a standard technology used by manufacturers of consumer electronics to allow entertainment devices within the home to share their content with each other across a home network without a complicated configuration process.
Solution
To use DLNA technology with GT-I8000 and TV, Wi-Fi must be connected via the same network connection as your TV. (i.e. The DLNA function must be installed in TV with Wi-Fi connection.)
For Samsung TVs connection to Wi-Fi is all the setting you need.
(For other brand TVs please refer to each site’s manual.)
1. Select Menu from the Home screen and then go to the second tab.
2. Execute Connected Home.
If Wi-Fi is not activated the connection message will pop up. Tap Wi-Fi on to move to Select Network and then select the desired network.
5. If you see a light next to the My media Sharing section then it means you have a Wi-Fi connection.
6. Click Sharing Folder and then select the folder that contains the contents.
7. Select the Select Contents icon to move to Contents Location.
8. Select your device (GT-I8000), which is displayed in the middle of the screen.
9. Select the content to play and then move to Select Player.
10. Select the device to play your content. (If the TV with the DLNA service and the mobile phone shares the same Wi-Fi connection the TV icon will appear on the "Select Player" screen.)
11. Now you can play your content using DLNA technologies.
Important Reminders
• For TV settings for using DLNA, please refer to relevant TV’s DLNA guide, as they are all different for different models.
• The TV must be set for DLNA use prior to connection to the mobile phones.
