About SmartThings for the Galaxy Watch
The SmartThings app can now be used from your Galaxy Watch. With this app, you can use your Galaxy Watch to view and control a variety of IoT devices.
Key Features
- View the status of devices registered under ¨Favourites¨ on your smartphone.
- Scenes added to ¨Favourites¨ on your smartphone can be viewed and run on your watch.
- More detailed control is possible for some devices.
Please note: Supported devices: TVs, speakers, air conditioners, robot vacuum cleaners, lighting (5 types).
1) TV: Change channel, adjust volume, set to silent, go to previous channel.
2) Speaker: Adjust volume, set to silent, music playback control (start/stop, previous track/next track).
3) Air conditioner: Temperature setting, indoor temperature.
4) Robot vacuum cleaner: Adjust direction (forward, left turn, right turn), start cleaning/pause, start charging.
5) Lighting: Brightness adjustment, colour mix.
- New devices cannot be added through the SmartThings for Galaxy Watch app.
To connect a new device, please use the SmartThings app installed on your mobile phone.
Galaxy Watch models that support the SmartThings app
The SmartThings app can be installed and used on all Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic models, as well as all models launched thereafter.
How to install the SmartThings app
- Download the app from the Google Play Store.
Step 1. Launch Google Play.
Step 2. Tap the search. icon.
Step 3. Tap the keyboard icon.
Step 4. Type “SmartThings” and press search.
Step 5. Select the “SmartThings” app.
Step 6. Tap Install.
2. Find the app in the Google Play app on your smartphone and select “Install on another device”.
Step 1. Search for SmartThings on the Play Store.
Step 2. Select “Available on more devices”.
Step 3. Next to Smartwatch Tap “Install”.
