An icon displays on Samsung washing machine
Have you ever wondered what that symbol on the display of your washer means? Sometimes the icon's significance is not immediately clear. Fortunately, this manual provides a list of all the icons found on Samsung washers along with an explanation of what they represent.
The t-shirt with a + icon indicates you can pause the cycle to add more clothing.
Some front-load washers have an Addwash door which makes it even easier to add more clothing during a cycle.
The smiley face icon indicates that Child Lock has been turned on. All buttons on your washing machine other than the power button and the control dial are disabled. On some washing machines, the door will also be locked. learn more about How to deactivate child lock.
The padlock (without a smiley face) or key icon indicates the door is locked. The door locks when a cycle is in progress or at any other time when it is not safe to open the door. Do not try to open the door while this icon is lit. Learn more about why the washing machine shows a door lock sign?
The crossed-out speaker icon and the crossed-out bell indicate that the signal sounds that happen at the end of a cycle have been turned off. To turn sounds on or off hold down the spin and options buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
The sparkly washer tub icon will display every 40 washes. This may vary slightly between models based on the size of your washer. Although you do not need to run a Pure Cycle or Self-Clean cycle immediately, we recommend that you run one at your earliest opportunity without detergent or clothes.
The clock icon indicates Delay Start is in use. A cycle is prepped to start at the specified time.

The button with a sink and no + icon is used to set the rinse count for a current cycle. You can set the rinse count to a max of 5, depending on the cycle.
The sink of water with a + icon indicates that the extra rinse feature has been turned on. Extra rinse adds additional time to the rinse portion of the cycle to help remove laundry additives and perfumes.
