What is Private Mode and how do I use it?
Private Mode was a function on older devices and operating systems that allowed you to hide certain content. Content that is moved to Private Mode can only be viewed with Private Mode switched on. It will hide content in the following applications:
- Voice recorder
- My Files
Please note: For devices running on Android Nougat and above, you can keep apps, files and images private by using the Secure Folder. Read our FAQ to find out more about the Secure Folder and how to use it.
Tap "Lock screen and security". If you do not see this screen, go to Step 4.
Please note: This example shows you how to hide content in your Gallery. You can also hide content in your Video, Music, Voice recorder and My Files.
PLEASE NOTE: that this option will not be available if you have not enabled Private Mode.
- Swipe down the top of the screen to reveal the Notification panel, then tap the Private Mode icon; or
- Go to "Settings", tap "Private Mode", then tap the switch to activate Private Mode.
Please note: The icon may look different depending on which Operating System your device is running.
